Itinerary
Your 5-day desert tour from Fes to Merzouga begins in the morning with pickup from your hotel, riad, or the airport in Fes.
We will drive south through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be in Ifrane, a peaceful mountain town famous for its European-style architecture and clean streets.
We will continue to the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you may see the Barbary macaques living in their natural environment.
After enjoying the forest and mountain scenery, we continue toward Midelt, passing through traditional villages and impressive landscapes.
You will spend the first night in Midelt, a town located between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountains.

After breakfast, we continue our journey toward the Sahara Desert.
The route crosses beautiful mountain landscapes before descending toward the spectacular Ziz Valley, one of the largest palm-filled valleys in Morocco.
We will stop at a panoramic viewpoint where you can admire the valley, traditional villages, palm groves, and the surrounding mountains.
The journey continues through Erfoud, a town known for fossils, dates, and its proximity to the Sahara.
In the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, located at the foot of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes.
You will check into your hotel or riad and have time to relax while enjoying views of the desert.

After breakfast, we begin a full-day Merzouga desert tour by 4x4.
This experience allows you to discover the landscapes, villages, and local culture surrounding the Erg Chebbi dunes.
We will visit seasonal desert lakes when water is available and continue toward old mining areas and remote desert tracks.
You will have the opportunity to visit a local nomadic family and learn about their traditional way of life in the Sahara. You may share tea with them and discover how nomadic families adapt to desert conditions.
Later, we visit Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa musicians. You will enjoy traditional music and learn more about the cultural history of the village.
Depending on the season and local conditions, we may also visit small Berber villages, fossil areas, panoramic desert viewpoints, and traditional markets.
After the desert excursion, we return to your accommodation in Merzouga.

During the camel ride, we will stop on a high dune so you can admire the sunset and take beautiful photographs of the Sahara.
After sunset, you continue to our luxury desert camp in Merzouga.
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with traditional Moroccan mint tea. Later, enjoy a delicious dinner followed by Berber music around the campfire.
